United Minimoto 4 Hour Endurance Race

4 Hour Endurance Race

1. Eligibility & Teams

  • Riders: Open to all adult riders. Youth riders (over 10) may bump up with parent/guardian and Race Director sign-off under an endurance-only exhibition waiver without losing youth sprint eligibility.
  • Team Makeup: Unlimited riders and bikes per team (maximum 2 bikes in the hot pit area at a time).
  • Classification: Teams are categorized by the highest-class bike on their team (Stock 125, F1, or Open). All classes race and are scored together.

2. Race Format & Schedule

  • Duration: 4 hours (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).
  • Start: Dead engine start, with grid positions assigned by morning lottery.
  • Finish: The race ends when the leader crosses the line after 2:00 PM. Teams must complete a valid lap in the final 15 minutes and take the checkered flag to be scored as an official finisher.
  • Winner: Most total laps completed. Ties are broken by finishing order across the line on the final lap.

3. Handicapping & Mandatory Pit Stops

Faster classes must complete mandatory pit stops to equalize track time:

  • Stock 125: No mandatory stops.
  • F1: Minimum 10 mandatory stops.
  • Open: Minimum 13 mandatory stops.
  • Penalty: 5 laps deducted per missed mandatory pit stop.

4. Pit Stop & Pit Lane Procedures

  • Valid Stop Definition: Bike enters pit lane, stays in 1st gear to the pit box, and completes either:
    1. A rider and transponder swap to a waiting teammate/bike, or
    2. The Solo Ritual: Complete stop, engine off, dismount, run fully around the bike, remount, restart, and exit.
  • Speed Limit: Strict 1st gear only from the Pit Entry line to the Pit Exit line (minimum 1-lap penalty for violations).
  • Pit Entry Signal: Riders must signal at least 2 turns prior to entering the pit lane.
  • Pit Location: All swaps, fueling, and mechanical work must happen entirely inside the team’s designated pit box.

5. Transponder & Scoring

  • Each team gets one (1) transponder acting as the scoring baton.
  • The transponder must be physically mounted on the actively competing bike. Laps without the transponder do not count.

6. Flags & Safety

  • Red Flags: The race clock does not stop. Teams may refuel and swap bikes/riders during red flags, but this does not count toward mandatory class pit stops.
  • Yellow Flags: Passing is strictly prohibited from the flag station to the incident. Pit stops under yellow are allowed and count toward mandatory totals.
  • Refueling: Engine must be off, rider off the bike, and a team member must hold an unpinned, ready fire extinguisher throughout fueling.
  • Inoperable Bikes: If broken on track, the rider must safely return the bike to the pits (or transponder only, if authorized by flaggers/race direction) before a teammate may enter the track.
